  1. Assign roles to ChatGPT before typing your question or command. When you assign a role to ChatGPT you give it a personality or persona. Doing so allows ChatGPT to act as the persona you gave it... start with: "Act as a pirate." Write a short birthday letter to my cousin Timmy.
  2. Format your outputs. ChatGPT can respond to you in code, tables, numbered list, bullet list, comma separated values, etc. Example: Create a table of popular dog breeds sorted alphabetically, and have a column for hostility, shedding amount and price.
  3. Generate to-do lists within ChatGPT. Add spaces above the content and type: Generate a to do list from this paragraph, or from this email.
  4. Rename your chatlogs for better organization.
  5. Prompt follow-up questions and commands. For example: Give these XXXXX an estimated time required and then organize from high to low.
  6. Use "Explain it to a child." For example: Explain cryptocurrency to a five-year-old.
  7. Change dashboard appearance within ChatGPT. Bottom-left-hand corner of screen.
  8. Share your chat thread links with associates. Click the share button to the right of the title.
  9. Change the tone of your writing. For example: Make this email more formal.

  12. Change the style of your writing. Style differs from tone because it relates to celebrities, characters or anything of that sort. For example, if you're writing an advertisement, end with: In the style of Dart Vader. 
  13. Use ChatGPT for quick learning on a new subject. For example: create a list of all important political figures in WWII. If you want to quickly learn the specifics of an article... Highlight the entire article, copy and paste to ChatGPT.. Create a summary in the key action steps from this article I can apply today.. enter-down and paste in the article and ChatGPT will summarize the article and give you key action steps that you can apply today.

  16. Use web-browsing and use it to analyze your links. Paste in your link and (ChatGPT 4) tyoe: Give me SEO recommendations for my home page.
  17. Templatize your prompts that work well so you can use them again in the future. For example: "Create me a 10 minute full body workout using a two 10 pound kettlebells." And you liked the results. To templatize, click the edit button, use brackets to make slight changes. For example: Create me a [Time] minute, [Workout Type] workout, using [Equipment]... Copy and paste in "Add New Prompt."
  18. Revise the existing text that you already have.
  19. Do step-by-step follow-alongs with ChatGPT. Tell ChatGPT to guide you step by step in whatever you are trying to create. For example: Guide me step by step and help me create a terms of service for my website. Give me questions I can answer and after I answer them generate me the TOS in a proper format. 
  20. Use ChatGPT for entertainment purposes. ChatGPT is great at storytelling, you can give it characters, a plot that can be fake, real, or tailored to your personal life, it can then generate fun and cool stories. ChatGPT is also great at music discovery. You can type in a list of your favorite artists and songs. For example: Find me similar songs that I can put on this playlist based on the information I have provided. You can do the same with film and book recommendations. For example: Give me more suggestions based on this. 
  21. Use ChatGPT for coding assistance. For example, if you want to change the look of a button on a page. Hover over the button, hit "Inspect" and copy the entire button class that you are trying to change, then "Copy Element". Give GPT the command: Help me change the CSS of this button to be orange and blue... then paste in that entire element.
  22. Brainstorm new ideas. Help me brainstorm business name ideas. OR...  Help me brainstorm book titles.
  23. Use ChatGPT as a tool for mediation. "The problem is: Who should get the last gummy bear in the bag."
  24. Use ChatGPT for journaling. "Ask me questions that I can answer for my Daily Journal and after I answer them format my journal from my text. 
  25. Export your chatlogs to your email. Bottom-left of the screen, hit the 3 dots, go to settings, Data Controls, and Export data.
  26. Understand the limitations of ChatGPT. Some limitations are: knowledge availabilty (this is why the web-browsing feature is awesome) is limited up to knowledge up to Sept of 2021.
  27. Use human-like text within your inputs. Talk as a human would talk to it. 
  28. Check responses for plagiarism before uploading.
  29. Use ChatGPT for studying. Like a study concept such as Flash Cards. "Generate flash cards on these political leaders and quiz me by saying the description and I have to answer with the name correctly, if I'm correct say correct and move on, if I'm incorrect say incorrect and give me the right answer and then move on.
  30. Use your generated knowledge to create more creative writing. For example: Write a blog post on how these films impacted the wester genre and Hollywood. 
  31. Create personalized plans based on your situation.
